KAMBO
What is Kambo?
Phyllomedusa bicolor, giant monkey toad or the forest vaccine, are some of their names, but the most common is Kambo.
This frog produces a secretion that some tribes of the Amazon have used for centuries as a potent natural remedy to cleanse, strengthen and keep their minds and bodies healthy,
Kambo is above all a spirit of nature that must be treated with respect, gratitude and care, especially in these days when its use is expanding worldwide thanks to its revolutionary therapeutic effects,
Legend and origin of Kambo::
A legend of the Kaxinawa people in Brazil tells that the whole tribe was very sick and that the healers ofthe tribe could not relieve their people with the plants and medicines they knew.
Kampu, one of the healers, decided to enter into the depths of the forest in a vision quest , praying for help from Mother Nature for his people. Under the effects of the master p'lant ayahuasca, he received a vision of the Great Mother, who placed a toad in his hands and taught him how to get it´s medicine, it´s "milk" and how to apply it. When he returned to his village, he followed the instructions he received in his vision and that is how his tribe was healed thanks to the help of this little frog.
When Kampu left this world to the world of spirits, he went to live with the frog and his tribe continued to use this remedy to remain strong and healthy and gave it the name Kampu or Kambo.
Traditional use :
Some the traditional uses are:

The panema is like a dense gray cloud around our energy field formed by what we accumulate and don´t integrate on a physical, emotional, energetic or mental level, and which blocks us from seeing clearly and connecting with our strength and essence, creating a state that attracts difficulties and illnesses.
Scientific research :
Since the 1980s, international scientific researches have been carried out on the properties of Kambo in the chemical and pharmaceutical fields. Nobel Prize nominee Vittorio Erspamer of the University of Rome wrote that this secretion contains a fantastic chemical "cocktail" with possible medical applications unmatched by any other amphibian. "Among the several dozen peptides found in Kambo, about 7% are bioactive."
From the biochemical point of view, the secretion of this frog contains a series of highly effective substances, the main ones being dermorfine and deltorfine, belonging to the group of peptides, that have shown good results for:
-
Pain and inflammation in general, such as muscles, spine, sciatica, osteoarthritis, arthritis, tendonitis and others.
-
Migraine and chronic headaches,

• Adenoregulin: In the 1990s, this new peptide was discovered by John Daly's team at the National Institute of Health in the United States. It works in the human body through adenosine receptors, a key component in all human energy cells. These receptors may provide an option for the treatment of diseases related to depression, stroke and cognitive impairment, such as Alzheimer's disease.
